Hello Neighbour

Welcome to the Oakridge Monitor, where we document what's happening in the southwest Calgary community of Oakridge.

Oakridge Community Association continues to push for traffic calming measures

The Oakridge Community Association (OCA) continues to lobby the City of Calgary to install traffic calming measures throughout the community, as the volume of vehicles in and around Oakridge continues to increase.

While the OCA has already had a pair of traffic calming victories in 2023 – reducing the speed limit on Palliser Drive to 40 km/h and installing pedestrian crossing lights on 90th Avenue at Oakside Gate – it continues to advocate for the safety of community residents.

Its next area of focus? Pedestrian crossings at heavy traffic areas including the intersections of Palliser Drive and 29th Street, Palliser Drive and Oakwood Drive and Southland Drive and Oakmoor Way.

To support the OCA’s efforts, please also use the City of Calgary 311 line or: https://www.calgary.ca/311.html to document any road safety or infrastructure issues. The more residents document their concerns, the more likely the City will investigate and address them.
