Hello Neighbour

Welcome to the Oakridge Monitor, where we document what's happening in the southwest Calgary community of Oakridge.

Oakridge Community Garden Program now open for registration

Oakridge Community Garden Program now open for registration

The Oakridge Community Garden (OCG) will be located to the East/Northeast of the Outdoor Hockey rink, and will feature communal plots and individual plots, growing vegetables, flowers and shrubs.

The OCG Program was approved in March by the Oakridge Community Association Board, Councillor Jeromy Farkas and the City of Calgary.

Over 20 volunteers have already been recruited to kick-start the program, but more are still needed to prepare the garden grounds and facilities. Planting is expected to start in early May, dependent on weather and the city’s latest social distancing rules and regulations.

To participate in the OCG Program, and Oakridge Community Membership is required. Visit www.oakridgecommunity.ca to purchase your community membership. Once you have done that, click on “Register for a Program” and register in the OCG program.

OCG Program participants will be required to follow Community Garden rules and guidelines, as well as sign a waiver.
