Apple Lady keeping residents happy and healthy

The Apple Lady provides Oakridge residents with an opportunity to purchase fruits and vegetables directly from local and B.C. family farms without leaving their own community.

Conveniently located on Palliser Drive, the main thoroughfare that cuts through the heart of the community, and operating out of a covered tent on her driveway, the Apple Lady has relationships with numerous producers surrounding Calgary and a number in the Okanagan Valley.

As a result, she has fresh fruit and vegetables available for purchase every Monday from noon to 6 p.m. These include many different types of apples (Fuji, Gala, Pink Lady, Okana, and Ambrosia), peaches, apricots, blueberries, plums, grapes, and cherries. Other items available on our early September visit includes leeks, cucumbers and zucchini.
