Oakridge crime numbers remain low halfway through 2021

In spite of a slight uptick in crime in the community in May, year-to-date criminal activity in Oakridge is still down 23% as compared to last year, according to the monthly update from the Calgary Police Service (CPS).

Oakridge has so far experienced 63 crimes in 2021, as compared to 82 crimes the previous year. Total crimes is calculated as the sum of break & enters (dwelling, commercial, and other premises), theft from vehicles, theft of vehicles, assaults (non-domestic), commercial robberies, street robberies, and non-domestic “other” violence.

According to the CPS, the community experienced two crimes in May – one assault (non-domestic) and one non-domestic “other” violence.
