Hello Neighbour

Welcome to the Oakridge Monitor, where we document what's happening in the southwest Calgary community of Oakridge.

Construction on Oakridge Crossing Development slated to begin mid-March

The redevelopment of the Oakridge Co-op is finally slated to begin this spring, with the announcement that construction will commence in mid-March 2021.

The planned re-development of the Oakridge Co-op will “incorporate mixed-use retail, residential and office spaces, while creating sustainable green initiatives and modernized infrastructure,” according to a Co-op spokesperson.

Darci-Jane McAulay, Communications Advisory for Calgary Co-op, says “the site will be developed in a staged-approach to minimize disruption to the community. During construction, the food store, gas station, car wash, liquor store, cannabis store, Boston Pizza, A&W and other retail and medical services will remain open.”

This phase of development will include upgrades to the road, parking lot, site servicing and also a new retail building.
