New French restaurant to open in Oakridge

Purlieu Bistro, a new French-themed restaurant, is set to open in early April in the strip mall along Palliser Drive in the heart of Oakridge.

The bistro, located at Palliser Drive and Oakchurch Crescent, takes over the space left vacant by Super Chinese Food, which shut its doors over the Christmas holidays, after the long-time owners decided to retire.

According to its web site, Purlieu is “a modern restaurant…(that brings) local fresh ingredients whenever possible…with a modern twist on classic food and drinks.” While the web site doesn’t indicate an opening date, rumours are circulating that Purlieu will open its doors on or around April 1st.
